Continually improving on these principles has provided the foundation for Somerset Homes’ success in Wimberley, and the Hill Country area.
Life in Wimberley
As an adult with a family of my own, I enjoy the benefits of the small town atmosphere, with an accredited Wimberley School District. The Wimberley community is the place I and so many others have chosen to raise our families. A lot of inspiring, and positive ideas come to fruition in this small town nestled in the hill country. I look forward to many years of enjoyment, raising my family as part of the wonderful community in which I take great pride.
Meet the Somerset Team
Matt Lowry – Owner of Somerset Homes
I began my career in the home building industry in 1998. My experience in construction management, warranty management, community development and design, home sales, and employee training have given me knowledge in all aspects of the home development process. Staying on top of new product knowledge, developing construction processes, and understanding home placement and design are just part of the components of building a home. Other simpler concepts are just as important if not more so. Communication, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are tools that greatly improve the final product. I knew that as my company became more successful, I needed to ensure that these attributes were carried out by each member associated with Somerset Homes as we continued to grow.
Karl Knutsen – V.P. of Construction
Karl has worked in the home building industry in the Texas Hill Country since 1994. He graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, specializing in Construction Technology. Throughout Karl’s residential home building experience, he has proven to be a dedicated and committed partner to his customers. He takes great pride in the care that he puts into each home. Karl has a passion for home construction, and through his tireless work ethic, and attention to detail, he has developed a countless number of satisfied customers. The Texas Hill Country is a beautiful place to raise a family. Karl, with his wife and 3 children, understands the value to family life that the Hill Country provides.
Team Members
During the early stages of development for Somerset Homes, I wanted to ensure that the qualities that we value were not only possessed by Somerset Homes’ employees, but also our contracted Team Members. Once a contractor has proven themselves by their actions, decisions, and knowledge in their specialty, they are accepted into our Team Member status. Caring about your work is following through with the right decisions even when the right decision is not the quickest solution. My Team Members are empowered to make the right decision at any point of the process. I greatly value Team Members that utilize this attribute, and promote proper planning to ensure the quality we demand. We have loyal Team Members that we have long standing relationships with that also possess our passion for a job well done. The loyalty and pride in craftsmanship is expanded upon with each new home we build together.
